The biennial conference series “Networked Systems” and its predecessor, the conference series “Kommunikation in Verteilten Systemen” (KiVS), started almost 35 years ago in 1979 in Berlin. With 17 conferences all over Germany, it evolved over time into the major scientific event in the field of communications and distributed systems in German-speaking countries.
The NetSys is also the main conference of the KuVS special interest group. The KuVS special interest group (Fachausschuss/Fachgruppe “Kommunikation und Verteilte Systeme” (KuVS)) is a common platform for researchers, developers and users of science and technologies related to communication and distributed systems in modern infrastructures. The interest group is anchored both in the German Computer Science society (Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI)) and in the Information Technology society (Informationstechnische Gesellschaft im VDE (ITG)). The special interest group has more than 1000 members from academia, research, industry and application fields.
