Directions

By Plane

The nearest airports are located in Berlin (Berlin Schoenefeld and Berlin Tegel) as well as in Dresden. Both airports are served by a wide range of airlines with direct connections to other cities in Germany (e.g., via Lufthansa, AirBerlin or GermanWings) and Europe.

From all three airports, you can reach Cottbus either via rental car (follow By Car directions) or via train (follow By Train directions).

By Train

Cottbus is connected to other cities via Deutsche Bahn. Direct connections are possible over Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden.

By Car

From Northern Directions:

  • Drive to Berlin
  • After Berlin, switch to A10 in direction ‘Schoenefelder Kreuz’
  • Change to the A13 in direction Cottbus / Dresden
  • Drive on the A13 until ‘Dreieck Spreewald’
  • Change to the A15 in direction Cottbus / Forst
  • Leave the A15 at the exit ‘Cottbus-West’
  • Drive in direction Cottbus, enter the city
  • Follow the signs in direction ‘Technische Universitaet’ / ‘City Center’

From Southern Directions:

  • Drive to Dresden
  • From Dresden on the A4, go to ‘Dreieck Dresden Nord’
  • Change to the A13 in direction Cottbus / Berlin
  • Drive on the A13 (Option i) until until exit ‘Ruhland’:
    change to the B169 in direction Cottbus
  • Drive on the A13 either (Option ii) until ‘Dreieck Spreewald’
    Change to the A15 in direction Cottbus / Forst
    Leave the A15 at the exit ‘Cottbus-West’
  • Drive in direction Cottbus, enter the city
  • Follow the signs in direction ‘Technische Universitaet’ / ‘City Center’

Cottbus provides train and tram / streetcar connections all over the city. You can take, for example, the bus line 16 from the central station right to the campus (station name ‘BTU Mensa’). Other lines provide fast connections to other spots in the city. Feel free to download the official app for the local transit from the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB).
